Commercial and home film

The same heat control, for the building.

Sun through a storefront or a west-facing living room is the same problem as sun through a windshield. Film cuts the heat and glare, stops the fading, adds privacy or security, and costs a fraction of new glass.

What film does for a building

Four problems, one install.

Heat and glare. Solar film rejects a large share of the sun's heat before it enters the room. Rooms on the sun side stop being the rooms nobody sits in, and the air conditioning stops fighting the windows all afternoon.

Fading. Film blocks over 99% of UV, the main cause of faded floors, furniture, merchandise and artwork.

Privacy. Reflective and frosted films give daytime privacy for street-level offices, conference rooms, bathrooms and bedrooms without blinds.

Safety. Security film holds broken glass together, slowing a break-in and keeping shards out of the room. Common on storefronts, schools and glass doors.

Where it goes

Offices, storefronts, homes.

Businesses. Storefront glass, office conference rooms, medical waiting areas, restaurants with a sun-side dining room, warehouses with clerestory windows. We work around your hours.

Homes. West-facing living rooms, sunrooms, bedrooms over a garage, nurseries, large sliding doors. Film goes on the inside of the glass and does not change the look of the house from the street unless you want it to.

Standards. Installs follow the International Window Film Association's acceptance standard. Film needs up to 60 days to fully cure and should not be cleaned in that time. We put all of this in writing before the job.

Questions

The short answers.

How do you price a building?

By the square foot of glass, with the film you choose. Send measurements and photos through our form and you get a room-by-room estimate before anyone visits.

Will it make the room dark?

Not unless you want it to. Heat-rejecting films come in nearly clear versions that cut the heat and UV with very little change in light. Privacy and glare films are darker by design.

Do you do homes or just businesses?

Both. Homes are mostly sun-side rooms and large sliders. Businesses are mostly storefronts and conference rooms.

How long does it last?

Architectural films are rated for many years and carry a manufacturer warranty against bubbling, peeling and discoloring. Details depend on the film, and they are in your agreement.

Do you still do vehicles too?

Yes, that is most of what we do. Same shop in Hampton, one minute off I‑664.
