Residential tinting

The room nobody sits in from two to six.

West-facing living rooms, sunrooms, bedrooms over the garage, big sliders. Film on the inside of the glass cuts the heat and glare, keeps the view, and does not change the look of the house from the street unless you want it to.

Living room with three windows: the middle one already filmed and noticeably darker than the untreated windows beside it
Mid-install. The center window is done, the two beside it are next.

What film does at home

Same problem as a hot car, bigger glass.

Heat. Film rejects a large share of the sun's heat before it gets into the room. The room on the sun side stops being the room nobody uses in the afternoon, and the air conditioning stops fighting it.

Glare. TV rooms, home offices and kitchens that face west get usable again without closing the blinds all day.

Fading. Over 99% of UV is blocked, which is what fades hardwood floors, couches, rugs and artwork.

Privacy. Reflective and frosted films give daytime privacy for bathrooms, bedrooms and street-facing windows with the light still coming in.

Nearly clear options. Heat-rejecting films come in versions that cut the heat and UV with very little change in light, so the house looks the same from the curb.

Questions

The short answers.

Will it make the room dark?

Not unless you want it to. Nearly clear films cut the heat and UV with very little change in light. Privacy and glare films are darker by design.

Does it go on the inside or outside?

Inside. It is protected from weather there, and it does not change the look of the house from the street unless you pick a reflective film.

How do you price a house?

By the square foot of glass, with the film you choose. Send measurements and photos through our form and you get a room-by-room estimate.

Will it damage double-pane windows?

Not with the right film. Some dark or metallic films are not suited to certain double-pane glass. We check the glass type before anything goes on.

Do you still do vehicles too?

Yes, that is most of what we do. Same shop in Hampton, one minute off I‑664.
